Summary provided by Gary Reynolds: This is a personal reminiscence of Hugh Z. Reynolds’ experiences during World War II. Hugh enlisted in the Montana National Guard at the age of 14 on May 9th, 1934 in Harlowtown, Montana. His dad worked in the local flour mill and times were tough. His unit went to Fort Lewis, Washington in 1940 when they were inducted into the 41st Division. Hugh ended up serving for the entire duration of the war; five years and three days of active service.
