Gift ShopOrder Form (PDF File)

Museum members receive a 15% discount all purchases through the Museum Store.  Military personnel and retirees receive a 10% discount with a military identification.  All sales will be used to support the activities of the all-volunteer, non-profit museum.  We are the official “Kit Shop” for First Special Service Force Association.

The Montana Military Museum Gift Shop has many articles that should prove of interest to people visiting the Museum and are geared around the exhibits. Just as there are exhibits on Lewis and Clark’s journeys and First Special Service Forces, there are articles for sale that will remind visitors of those exhibits.

Items include Montana Military Museum polo shirts, with various emblems, as well as t-shirts and caps. Our newest caps are a wonderful shade of dark blue, which resemble the color of a Montana sky when you look straight up at dusk.

We also have some new posters of drawings of the First Special Service Force which are all signed by the artist, Robert Bailey. There are three different posters of the Devil’s Brigade called “Devil’s Duo”, “Ready for Action” and “Street Shot”.

A fabulous new poster that recently came in, is of the Fort Harrison Panoramic Mural by Irvin “Shorty” Shope. The mural, which is located in the National Guard Service Club was originally painted in 1943. It is exceptional in that it includes Service Women, a rarity in the military art work of the time. These posters are suitable for framing and would make a wonderful addition to anyone’s collection, and would also make for a thoughtful gift.

A favorite section of our gift shop is the book collection.  From The Great Sioux War 1876-77, to books about the 1st Special Service Forces, the 163rd and our more recent encounters in Iraq – Down Range, to Iraq and Back, we’ve got it.  We also have books on Lewis and Clark as well as other books of historical nature.  No fiction here, folks.

In the book section, you may find of special interest, Splendid Service the Montana National Guard, 1867 - 2006 edited by Orlan J. Svingen. This fascinating book chronicles the history of the Montana National Guard from its beginning in 1867 through Desert Storm and more. It fearlessly includes failures and heartbreaks, as well as important achievements through accounts of military life with historic photos giving the reader a solid sense of time and place. The solid and extensive research that went into this opus make this a book worthy of a place in your library.

As Dave Armstrong’s book, Camp Rimini and Beyond: WWII Memoirs has proved to be so very popular, we have had to do a 3rd reprint of 100 books. If you do not yet have your copy, please come in and buy one. They are signed by Dave and contain information you didn’t even know you wanted until you read it.

We look forward to seeing you when you come in!
