Montana Military Museum

The Montana Military Museum invites you to take a virtual tour of our facilities, check out our programs and monitor our progress. This effort to tell Montana's rich military history is a joint effort by the Department of Military Affairs, the Montana National Guard Museum Activity, and the Fort William Henry Harrison Museum Foundation.

Hours:  Thursday's from 9 AM - 4 PM.  Tours may be arranged for other days upon request by calling the Museum Director, Ray Read, at 406-458-9847 (home) or cell 406-459-6839.  

Location: Fort William Henry Harrison military complex west of Helena, Montana.  To reach the Montana Military Museum drive west off Helena on Euclid Avenue (U.S. Highway 12) to Williams Street.  (Turn right on Williams Street at the Broadwater Market at the brown “M” sign.  Drive north past the Veteran’s Administration Hospital entrance to the Fort Harrison Main Gate.  Please bring a Photo ID, such as a driver’s license, to enter the Fort’s Main Gate.

The Museum is one block northwest of the Main Gate.

Admission to the Museum and tours are FREE, Donations are welcomed.

All proceeds from Museum Gift Shop and Bookstore sales are used to support the work of the Montana Military Museum, an all-volunteer, non-profit 501 c 3 organization.

Retired or active duty military personnel will receive a 10% discount on purchases by providing a proper identification.
